All my life I have been fascinated by color and the play of light and shadow. During my elementary school years, I drew every chance I got. My parents encouraged my artistic bent by enrolling me in art classes and taking me to visit the Chicago Art Museum. I continued to draw and paint through high school but it wasn’t until college that I began to see art in a broader context. While attending the University of Colorado I took a job with a prestigious gallery in Boulder. It was there that I met well-known artists like Robert Daughters and William Hook.

It was during this time period that I began taking private lessons from nationally known pastel artist, Sara Oakley. Having never painted with pastels before, I found that they were the perfect medium for my style and gave me the rich colors I loved.

In 2006 my family and I moved to the Northwest where we have made our home in Bothell, Washington. Here, I am exploring a whole new kind of beautiful scenery as inspiration for my art. My passion for painting, and desire to succeed as an artist, has continued to grow.
