While Jamie Eppenauer considers the Pacific Northwest home, she was born and raised in the Midwest. At a very young age she became interested in photography and had photographs published nationwide by Associated Press.
While art and photography were always an interest, she graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Political Science, and then from the University of Iowa College of Law, Order of the Coif.

After five years of practicing law in Chicago, followed by ten years of raising her small children, she is now investing more time in her love of art. Jamie has studied art at the University of Iowa, in Kansas City, Missouri, and under several local Seattle artists. She is a member of the Cottage Lake Artist Guild. "I consider my art to be God's gift to bring me happiness. I liked being a lawyer and I am thankful for the time I spent staying at home caring for my young children.
But painting gives me a special peace and enrichment to my life. I hope that my paintings bring some of that joy and happiness to others who view them. I started out painting as a realist and greatly admire the old-world masters. However, I am presently inspired by Russian Post-Impressionism and the artwork of John Singer Sargent.”
