David Jenkins always knew he was destined to be an artist. After obtaining a Fine Arts/Mathematics degree from Central Washington University he moved to Northern California where he acted as the Administrative Officer for the Satellite Test Center in Sunnyvale California. Four years later he left the service and delved seriously into the graphic art field working for such companies as Space Data Sciences in Palo Alto, NASA at Ames Research Center in Mountain View, and Lockheed Missiles and Space System Division, Sunnyvale, all in California.
Twenty years later he moved back to the Northwest and took a position with Boeing Aircraft acting as a commercial and technical art consultant. In 1985 he formed Starstrand Design, his own construction company, and designed and built custom homes.
Sometimes we succeed, some times we fail, but if we are true to our craft we realize it is not the destination that that fills our hearts with joy and fulfillment but the magic of the journey.”
